LeetPirate
Hello,I am shortly about buying Galaxy S2 here in Germany and i've heard that many people have problems with Kies 2.0 and claimed this crappy software. Is this true?Yes Kies is very crappy and I never got it to connect to my Galaxy 3. You might have better luck with the Galaxy S2.You don't need that software anyway, the phone is very good and you can backup your data to the sd card so no need to sync it with your pc. Administrator Lite Posted October 13, 2011 Administrator Share Posted October 13, 2011 Yup... never once used Kies on my S or S2. There really is no need to use it.I just tried it though... and it connects fine. If that helps?

Olexijl
So you guys do not like Kies. :blink:I cannot tell you anything about it, i simply do not have Galaxy S2 at the moment. But how is about functionality? Does this WORK well? Does it connect fine?I've heard you must disable debugging mode to connect to USB... :ermm:

Does this WORK well? Does it connect fine?I've heard you must disable debugging mode to connect to USB... :ermm:I finally got mines to connect. I did some reading on samfirmware website and after installing the latest version of Kies I booted the phone in the bootloader mode first. I removed the sim and mem card then with the phone off I had to hold down the vol down, home, and power button for a few seconds till it booted up. Then it connected to Kies.Hopefully it will connect in regular mode from now on. Honestly though Kies is only good to sync data and if samsung ever releases firmware updates, they hardly ever do. Other than that it's much better to just get an app to backup your phone data to your memory card. Oh and now you can use Google sync to backup all your phone contacts to your google address book so that's another option. To load music on the phone just connect it to the computer in the memory card mode and it comes up as a normal drive and you can load your songs and other data straight to the memory card. PrEzi
It connects ok if - as someone said -- you'll disable USB Debugging,AND - have MTP process running in background (some custom ROMs cut it out)For me it worked fine - but I admit - it is sluggish.I prefer to use Titanium Backup for all of my things. One advantage I think would be the Data Connection Sharing via KIES.
