what is your choice for playing HD vids? shareware and freeware.

tried divX and it's wont playing my vids dunno why (test run with bluray Lord of the ring trilogy)

it's showed up playing not as paused or stopped, but the bar wont move, the time keep showing 00:00:00

and the screen show nothing :(

right now i'm using Splayer (main player),VLC and GOM player as an alternative...

light, simple, and i like the UI except VLC though :P

ArcSoft- TotalMedia Theatre 5 is my favorite

and...

SPLAYER

and sometimes QQPLAYER (they have a lot in common)

Just try them once and you will be surprised how simple and good players they are!

And in splayer setup during installation uncheck: Set as Default player!

If you experience any crash don't forget to configure the options menu:

Start splayer as administrator

Untick /uncheck:

Auto-upgrade Splayer

Auto download subtitles

File association (all of them)

Autoplay (all of them)

Hello

But in my opinion, you can get the best from VLC Media Player when K-Lite Mega Codecs Pack is installed on your machine.

S Player is good ...

i like its auto sub titles download feature ..

one more player i would highly recommend is the Zoom Player ( http://www.inmatrix.com/products.shtml ) .

its light and plays HD content seamlessly and has some real good Video Controls .

try the free version , it plays almost many formats and you would love the performance .

the paid versions have some extra added support features .

( but then , you can easily find the Pro out there some where ... ;) )

Splash PRO is also good , used to use it along with SPlayer ,

but when i tried the ZOOM Player it had the same Video Controls which Splash Player boasts of and with better performance ,

so i stuck with Zoom ... :)

sorry for the interruption, well kmplayer hangs a lot in pc when i tried to play hd content, vlc player well voice mismatch when played,he he he fun part is klite codec is not helped in my M$ own video player, so searched and settled down with garbage player called powerdvd. it uses almost 20 mb for its background service when pc started and using about some 100 mb depend upon what kind of extension it plays. oh boy this only i hate shareware as well freeware. bye bye bye :P

Mirillis splash pro for me, the best part is that it actually enhances the video with its motion2 & picture2 working nicely alongside detail/audio boost functions. It might well be the most efficient multicore optimized video player out there, atleast from the lot I've seen, & the only real competition for it in this space is coreavc or ffmpef-mt !

I think MPC-HC is the best player. I've used a quite a few plays (Splash Professional, WinDVD 11, PowerDVD 11, etc.) but I came to a conclusion that MPC-HC is the best and most feature packed (if installed with K-lite) player in the market :) Splash Professional comes a close 2nd, but it cannot be compared to MPC-HC.

I've also tried Splash Pro EX (latest version), it's a very good player for HD playback with some of it's exclusive features.

The only problem that I experienced is that it does not support DVD Playback (even in Pro version, but in BD version which comes soon it supports) and when I compared some videos I found that VLC is still better, even in video quality.

But totally a nice program. ;)
