mrkool123
When I used to boot my computer it went to the Windows 7 screen with my username, large icon above it, and a spot to enter password below. Recently it started going to the same screen upon bootup, only now my username and icon are smaller than before and I must now click the small icon before it turns big, and then I can enter my password. Does anyone know how to go back to bypassing this annoying extra click before entering my password? How do I solve this?
vin3e
Sounds like you have more than just an administrator account. When you click on your icon does it then display a box to type your password in?

HX1
This happens usually when there is more than one account.. Like I have several on this one.. and it does the same thing.. small picture, with name.. Then you choose account and enter your password... This could be a side effect if something has enabled an account ( even hidden ) on your system. So if say a .NET Framework has created an account or something from an installation.. it may not be directly accessible but your system is registering that there is more than one account.. and is not automatically selecting the only one visible..There is a place in the Group Policy to change characteristics of this area and even how you sign in.. For example you can also force a user to enter in a Username as well as a Password and other aspects which will enforce few more security measures.. Characteristics such as automatically selecting the last used account and tracking in this area will also be there... I will have to do some more research since I do not navigate this area every day.. But it is there... and may be the answer to your problem.. HX1
I looked through some of the default policies in Group Policy and I am not finding anything right off.. but I would like to ask you if you have recently knowingly or otherwise added the system to a HomeGroup or WorkGroup? OR hve you used anything like Windows 7 Manager to change any settings or anything.. This could actually alter it's behavior... I found a similar article about it here: Configure the Welcome Screen and Classic Logon ScreenMight look around here.. There are ways around what you describe.. including forcing a Username at Logon as well and an automatic logo at boot.. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/182279-logon-screen-fix-showing-only-other-user-last-logged-user.html They have quite a few very handy tutorials and have been a good source of information in the past about a few things.. Search for Windows Logon.. This could also be a part of the system not remembering the last 10 logons and not focusing on last used accounts.. but you may have a little mystery issue, that needs to be ironed-out. i just want that in my pc to happen but i don't know how to make it small. i don't like the big user avatar during login. This one would take some real hacking if even possible.. I THINK.. so you never know.. I sort of understand what you mean though.. Still thinking about hacking some files and changing the UI of mine but still a little iffy on that one.. :P

HX1
Are you getting permissions access issues or what exactly and what type of account are you trying to access it from? Any security software that could be interfering? I used O&O's Registry Editor and went right to it.. currently mine is set to 3.. and Admin is set to 5.. Could search the location online and see if there is anything extensive about it.EDIT: And Have you restarted your system Twice.. complete shutdown and Startup? Forgot to ask..
