dealing with error 2573

aloha all

new to this forum - my search did not give me any results - so pls bear with me if this subject has already been treaded elsewhere. thanks!

i had eset nod32 installed on a winxp x86 sp3, and it was running/updating (with mara's kit) well until recently when i got a serious rootkit problem (had eset deactivated for some purposes).

the service still came up and i had a green icon.

but then i discovered that they option to disable/enable were grayed out and when opening the gui i got an empty frame.

while trying to uninstall i got the message: not sufficient rights - that was the rootkit issue. we solved that differently.

i have no way to repair/uninstall nor install eset (downloaded the newest version from nsane.

it will start and end by telling me ' the installer has encountered an exepected error installing this package. may indicate a prob with this package (i tried with direct link and trial installer - same issue).

and i am always getting the error code 2753

suggestions anybody? thank you for your time and help

Staff Note: Moved to Security and Privacy Center. ;)

Download the ESET uninstaller from here.

Reboot into Safe Mode and start the uninstaller. Follow the instructions and uninstall it.

Reboot in normal mode again and clean the registry (just incase required).
