Marik
Yahoo announced that a material change was going to take place soon in its infrastructure. The firm indeed decided that it was going to adopt the system of OpenID identification, in its version 2.0, and this as of on January 30.It is really about certain a step ahead for the user ID who has a Yahoo account. In practice, all those which have such an account will be able to use it to be connected on the sites dealing with this infrastructure.Let us take an example. If NsaneDown.com chose a system of OpenID authentification, it would be enough that the users of Yahoo are identified with a specific address. Here how are held the operations: * The user creates an account at Yahoo * It to him will be communicated an address which will probably have as a form, for example, xxx.yahoo.com * It indicates this address on the sites where it wishes to be connected * The targeted site questions Yahoo then in a protected way * To validate the request, the user is invited to enter his password * The site accepts the identification, the user is connectedOf a system of the type “an identification it is not a question, then automatic identification” as the LiveID accounts from Microsoft. The assumption of responsibility of OpenID is especially intended to simplify the life of the users so that they do not have to create multiple accounts and profiles. In the case of Yahoo, the database of the users will thus be used as central agent of information, which will then be exploited by the compatible sites. From a point of user view, one thus in particular avoids providing the same information each time, with the risk sometimes to have differences between each site.
