New Microsoft Flight Simulator City Update focuses on the Netherlands and Belgium

City Update 14 has gone live for both versions of Microsoft's Flight Simulator games, and this one is updating areas in the Netherlands and Belgium

Major updates continue to drop for the original Microsoft Flight Simulator and the 2024 release. Today, Microsoft unveiled another city update to the simulation, this time upgrading the visuals and accuracy of the Netherlands and Belgium. City Update 14 is live for all owners to install right now. The update is aimed at improving ten areas of interest in the two regions mentioned, all using the development team's usual use of advanced TIN (triangulated irregular network) surface texturing.

In the Netherlands, Microsoft has made updates to eight areas in total. These are the capital city Amsterdam (three areas of interest here), Breukelen, Brielle, Eindhoven, Rotterdam, and Utrecht.

Next, Belgium has received two areas of interest of its own for players to fly over and explore. These are for Antwerp and Bruges.

"The release coincides with one of the world’s largest flight simulation conferences, FlightSimWeekend (FSWeekend), taking place in Lelystad in the Netherlands from 20 to 22 March, 2026," adds the development team.

At the same time, Microsoft is bringing the Dutch twin‑turboprop regional airliner Fokker F27 Friendship into the game as a part of its Local Legend 23 release. This premium plane can be purchased from the in-game marketplace for $19.99.

Microsoft Flight Simulator City Update 14: The Netherlands and Belgium are now available in Microsoft Flight Simulator, as well as the newer Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, as an optional download.

The update is live across Steam and the Microsoft Store for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox and PC Game Pass subscriptions. Xbox One, mobile, and PC players can also jump into the new content using Xbox Cloud Gaming if they have a Game Pass Ultimate membership. The game must be updated to the latest version to download this free update from the in-game marketplace.
