Celebrate America's 250th birthday in style with the very best of the country's landscapes in World Update 22

The dust is just settling from the Summer Game Fest Xbox Showcase and while the biggest noise goes to the shiny new games coming our way in the next year or so, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 fans are also eating well.

Revealed during the showcase is World Update 22, coming our way to all platforms on America's birthday, the 4th of July.

Fitting, then, especially on the country's 250th birthday, that the update is very American in flavor.

"Celebrating the beauty of the United States, featuring National Parks & National Monuments."

    Locations include:

    • Acadia, Maine
    • Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee and North Carolina
    • Dry Tortugas, Florida
    • Big Bend, Texas
    • Guadalupe Mountains, Texas
    • Rocky Mountains, Colorado
    • Great Sand Dunes, Colorado
    • Canyonlands, Utah
    • Bryce Canyon, Utah
    • Zion, Utah
    • Death Valley, California
    • Yosemite, California
    • Crater Lake, Oregon
    • Mount Rainier, Washington
    • North Cascades, Washington
    • Glacier, Montana
    • Yellowstone, Wyoming
    • Grand Teton, Wyoming
    • Badlands, South Dakota
    • Mount Rushmore, South Dakota
    • Grand Canyon, Arizona

That's just what's shown in the trailer, too. In total "more than 30" new locations are promised, alongside the legendary Goodyear blimp.

While this update is coming July 4th, the trailer also teases a future update, too. Due in the fall, it'll be bringing the National Championship Air Races to the virtual skies over New Mexico.

It continues to be a good time to be a Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 fan, with each update adding good-looking, meaningful content.

It's been a minute since I strapped in for takeoff, but seeing the visuals released so far of the Grand Canyon and Mount Rainier — two locations this British tourist has fond memories of visits to — makes me want to dive back in.
