Google has updated its smart home lineup by launching new Nest-branded security cameras and a doorbell. This comes alongside the Gemini for Home AI assistant, which is supported on Google's smart devices launched in the last decade. The Nest Doorbell (3rd gen), Nest Cam Indoor (3rd gen), and Nest Cam Outdoor (2nd gen) are the three new wired smart devices that come fitted the 2K HDR video support, the highest resolution Google has offered yet.

These smart devices are designed to work with Gemini For Home. Their upgraded cameras can capture the detail required for multimodal AI and advanced semantic scene understanding, according to the company. Google has improved low-light performance to deliver more color and detail in the recordings by fitting a new sensor and a wider aperture.

"The new Nest Cams capture a sweeping 152-degree diagonal view, while the Nest Doorbell offers a 1:1 aspect ratio and a 166-degree diagonal view so you can see packages on the ground, wide entryways and visitors from head to toe," Google said.

Gemini For Home lets users catch up on the daily recording with Home Brief, adds more context to motion detection alerts, and searches through their video history to find the desired moments.

Google has made the latest Nest devices available for sale on the Google Store and other platforms. The 3rd gen Nest Cam Indoor ($99.99) and 2nd gen Nest Cam Outdoor ($149) will be available in more than a dozen countries, including the US and Canada.

The Nest Doorbell (3rd gen) is available in the US and Canada with a price tag of $179.99. Gemini For Home features will initially be available to users in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, and Australia, with other regions to follow in early 2026.

That said, these new smart home devices from Google have arrived right after Amazon refreshed its lineups for Echo smart speakers, Fire TV devices, and Ring security cameras, featuring the upgraded Alexa+ assistant.
