While everyone's attention is now on Forza Horizon 6, which was previewed earlier this month at Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct, Forza Horizon 5 is still pretty much alive and kicking. It may no longer be getting new content, but it is still supported, which means it gets useful updates with fixes and improvements. One such update just arrived with some important changes.
Forza's official X account announced the update that adds improved Steam Deck support. If you have this Valve-made handheld, you can now properly use the virtual keyboard in the game.
In addition to that, the update improves the performance and stability of the game. Plus, developers fixed an exploit that allowed players to bypass the profanity filter. Here is the complete changelog from the official Forza support website:
Bug fixes and changes (Available from Jan 29)
- General
- Performance and stability fixes.
- Fixed an exploit that allowed players to bypass the profanity filter.
- Steam Deck Handhelds
- Added virtual keyboard support for Steam Deck Handhelds.
The latest update for Forza Horizon 5 is available on Steam, Windows, and Xbox. It is not available on PlayStation 5. Sony's console is also not getting Forza Horizon 6 on its launch on May 19, 2026, with early access kicking off on May 15, 2026. However, the game is still coming to PlayStation 5, albeit at a later date. If you missed the game's showcase at the Xbox Developer Direct, you can find all the details here.
