While many of you know I’m still kinda “meh” on Windows 11 24H2, if you are on Windows 11 22H2 you are missing out on the good stuff. For example, I was helping someone the other day with an accounting issue and when I remoted into their computer and did what I normally do when cutting and pasting something, I realized their right mouse click on their Windows 11 machine did not have WORDS above the icons for cut and paste. One of the changes that Microsoft did based on our feedback was putting words in the menu of the right mouse click so that you didn’t have to look at the funky copy icon and go …. what exactly is that? Instead it has the word “copy”. So I sat there for a brief moment wondering what exact version of Windows 11 this was on since it’s been a long time since that was rolled up. Sure enough that workstation was still on Windows 11 22H2.

After we get past Windows 10’s end of life which really won’t be a end of life for pretty much everyone, we will truly have to deal with the end of life for Windows 11 23H2.

Windows 11 Home and Pro, version 23H2 will reach the end of updates on November 11, 2025. This version was released in October of 2023.  This edition will no longer receive security updates after November 11, 2025. Customers who contact Microsoft Support after this date will be directed to update their device to the latest version of Windows 11 to remain supported.
