Windows 11's stock mixer lets you adjust the volume for individual apps, say Spotify at 50% and Discord at 75%. Opening it is simple: just click the volume icon in the system tray and then click the sound output button. Although the stock experience is mostly alright, there is always plenty of room for improvement, and this genius Windhawk mod makes the volume mixer so much better.

You may know that in Windows 11, you can adjust the master volume with a scroll wheel when hovering the cursor over the volume indicator. What if the same experience were available for each app on your taskbar? With this Windhawk mod, you can do exactly that. Just place the cursor over the app you want to turn down or up and scroll down or up. Upon scrolling, you will get a small tooltip showing the current volume level for the selected app.

The mod is not just about basic volume up or down features. You can also customize the volume change step for more precise or quicker adjustments. Additionally, there is the ability to mute the app by clicking it with the Ctrl key or making adjustments work only when you hold the Ctrl key.

Finally, the "Taskbar Volume Control Per-App" mod (not a particularly creative name, but as long as it works, I guess) also plays nicely with a similar mod from the same developer that expands the volume adjustment area to the entire taskbar so that you can turn the volume up or down when you place the cursor anywhere above the taskbar.

You can download "Taskbar Volume Control Per-App" using this link. The mod requires the Windhawk app to work, and you can get it from the official website. Like with every other third-party modification, always back up important data before messing with your system.
