Last week, Microsoft released PowerToys 0.92, a new feature update for the fan-favorite set of utilities for Windows 10 and 11. While it was not the biggest or most significant release (no new modules or utilities, after all), the update introduces some important changes, such as the ability to toggle the tray area icon, performance improvements, and other changes. Now, Microsoft has a small update for PowerToys, aimed at addressing bugs with File Explorer modules and the Command Palette utility.

Here is the changelog for version 0.92.1:

    • #40314 - File Explorer add-ons: Fixed bug where Preview didn't work with per-user installation
    • #40392 - Command Palette: Fixed regression where the apps extension was missing all Win32 applications
    • #40401 - Command Palette: Fixed regression where we reset the app state every time it was loaded

PowerToys 0.92.1 is now available for download from the Microsoft Store, GitHub, and Winget (run the "winget install Microsoft.PowerToys -s winget" command). If you already have the app running on your PC, you can get it by launching PowerToys and clicking "Check for updates" on the main page of the dashboard. The latter, by the way, is getting a big redesign, albeit the exact release date currently remains unknown, so stay tuned for future PowerToys updates.

You can also check out the full release notes for the previous update here.
