The Windows 10 Instagram app received an update today that finally enabled the ability to create photo and video posts. Until now, the newly revamped Instagram app could only be used for consuming posts and Instagram Stories.
The new feature is surprisingly solid straight out of the gate with most of the popular filters being present and a variety of basic aspect ratio and color options available. Users can also add multiple files to a post if they want.
Unfortunately, support for creating Instagram Stories and livestreams isn’t live yet though it wouldn’t be crazy to assume that both of these features are on the way.
Instagram first launched an official app for Windows 10 PCs and tablets back in 2016 via an update for the existing Windows phone app. This app was eventually replaced with a Progressive Web App (PWA) version which fully transitioned into the new app format back in April of this year.
