NVIDIA App version 11.0.8. brings 240 FPS ShadowPlay recording, but only for gamers with GeForce RTX 50 and 40 Series GPUs.

NVIDIA has released NVIDIA App version 11.0.8. The new update brings 240 FPS Shadowplay recording, new Control Panel display options, and DLSS Override or Optimal Settings support for a long list of games.

The biggest addition here is 240 FPS ShadowPlay recording, but not everyone can use this feature. It’s only available for GeForce RTX 50 and 40 Series GPUs. Still, regular gamers might not even need it, as the 240 FPS ShadowPlay recording is mainly aimed at competitive gamers and creators who want ultra-smooth, high-resolution source footage. It can be configured through Alt+Z > Settings > Video Capture.

The new update adds two new display options to the Control Panel. Users can now confine the taskbar to a single display or maximize windows across every connected display, both accessible under System > Displays > Surround.

Both Optimal Settings support and DLSS Override support have been added for a sizable batch of titles. Some of the most notable games that received this support are DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH, Resident Evil Requiem, Crimson Desert, Marathon, and PRAGMATA, the latter picking up both Optimal Settings and DLSS Override support.

On the bug fix side, NVIDIA resolved an issue causing ShadowPlay recordings to fail when a game's title contained a special character. The update also includes a batch of general stability fixes to improve overall app reliability.

The update follows NVIDIA's recent GeForce Hotfix driver release, which infamously fixed zero gaming issues but instead delivered DLSS optimizations for a few recently released games.

You can check out the full changelog, along with the full list of games that got Optimal Settings and DLSS Override support here. The NVIDIA App update should roll out automatically, or you can check for it manually by opening the app and going to Settings > Updates.
