Microsoft has released its Patch Tuesday update for Windows 11 designated as KB5011493. Upon installing this update, Windows 11 users will be on OS Build 22000.556. Typically, Windows Update should install this patch automatically but if you’re a bit impatient you can go ahead and open Windows Update to try to get the update to install manually.

According to the release notes, the highlights of this update mention that security has been updated. Under improvements, Microsoft says that this update:

“Addresses a known issue that occurs when you attempt to reset a Windows device and its apps have folders that contain reparse data, such as Microsoft OneDrive or Microsoft OneDrive for Business. When you select Remove everything, files that have been downloaded or synced locally from Microsoft OneDrive might not be deleted. Some devices might take up to seven (7) days after you install this update to fully address the issue and prevent files from persisting after a reset.”

This Patch Tuesday update also bumps the Windows 11 servicing stack to 22000.469. The servicing stack update ensures that devices are ready to download and install updates that Microsoft pushes out ensuring people get the latest features and security patches.

As for known issues, Microsoft is continuing to report that there are none that it is aware of so there will be no workarounds you need to use on your Windows 11 system.
