Towards the end of January, Microsoft promised a major upgrade for Windows 11 and a couple of days ago, the company delivered on that. Among the several other features that this February update brought, is the introduction of the Amazon Appstore Preview, which is now available on the Microsoft Store. Android apps can now be downloaded on Windows 11 via the Amazon Appstore but the feature sadly is only available in the U.S., for now.
Microsoft has also published the minimum system requirements for running Android Apps on Windows 11, and the company has only recommended solid state drives (SSDs) as the storage type. Though there is no particular mention of SATA III or NVMe here, so either should be plenty.

Interestingly, for Windows 11 itself, Microsoft hadn't specified in particular what kind of storage was preferred and only mentioned "64GB" as the requirement. It does seem like Microsoft feels that running the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) may be a bit too much for spinning hard disks.
Another interesting takeaway is the omission of Ryzen 2000 processors as only Ryzen 3000 is listed in the requirements table above. The Ryzen 2000 series CPUs (not the Ryzen 2000 APUs) are based on the Zen+ micro-architecture and they are officially supported by Microsoft for Windows 11.
