Windows 11 is not a new operating system anymore, but despite its growing age (it is now pushing five), Microsoft surely took some time to address a lot of criticism related to missing features, particularly in the taskbar and Start menu area. While Microsoft has already brought plenty of missing features and even added some new ones, like the ability to open the notification center from any display, one thing is still missing: the proper calendar flyout.

Windows 10's calendar flyout is a useful productivity feature that lets you see your agenda, add new events, and more, not just stare at a simple, blank calendar like in Windows 11. The poor calendar implementation in Windows 11 spawned third-party alternatives like Calendar Flyout, which fix the missing features. Now, Microsoft is finally fixing that.

Agenda View in Windows 11s Calendar Flyout

At Ignite 2025, where Microsoft revealed plenty of new stuff, including AI updates for Windows 11, the company announced that Windows 11's calendar flyout is finally getting a much-needed upgrade. Next month, Microsoft will bring the new Agenda view to the calendar flyout, offering you a quick look at all your upcoming events. There will also be extra buttons for joining meetings or talking to Microsoft 365 Copilot (of course). Judging from the screenshot that Microsoft shared, it does not seem like there will be a button to add new events, though.

It is still a shame that Microsoft has been slacking in this area for this long, which is particularly annoying for Windows 10 users who are now forced to upgrade due to the end of support. To many, moving to Windows 11 feels like a downgrade due to the lack of small conveniences like a good calendar flyout, and the ever-growing influx of questionable changes, user-hostile practices, and AI everywhere surely do not make things any better.
