In other Surface news, Microsoft has just announced a new partnership with Open Device Partnership (ODP), an initiative that aims to standardize device software by enhancing security and other elements. Microsoft will invest in Rust-based UEFI firmware for memory safety, Secure Embedded Controller firmware, and the Unified OS-EC service interface responsible for interactions between the operating system and embedded controllers. You can learn more about that partnership here.
