The year 2025 is about to end, and Apple has taken the opportunity to post what is probably its last update for the year. It shared a new "Something BIG" teaser on the official Instagram account for Apple Fitness+, hinting that the iPhone maker has some major plans for its fitness subscription service in 2026.
"Word on the street is that Apple Fitness+ has big plans for 2026... stay tuned!" Apple said. The cryptic teaser shows people reading a fictional "Apple Fitness+ Times" newspaper, featuring different headlines:
- What's Apple Fitness+ Planning for the New Year?
- Something Big is coming to Apple Fitness+
- The Countdown begins. Apple Fitness+ 2026 is almost here.
- 2026 Plans still under wraps - for now.
The teaser also says that "Experts predict January will be one to watch," suggesting that new Fitness+ updates will arrive as early as next month, with new capabilities in tow for the Apple Watch. It won't be new for Apple as the company released new Apple Fitness+ features in January 2025, followed by 90+ Apple devices, software updates, and other announcements throughout the year.
Fitness+ has been around for five years and saw its largest expansion this month, when it arrived in 28 new markets globally, including Chile, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Taiwan.
As per previous rumors, Apple allegedly wants to "replicate" your doctor with an AI agent. Its revamped Health app and AI agent will combine health data from different Apple devices (such as iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods) to generate personalized health recommendations.
The company also ran an Apple Health Study focusing on how mobile devices can help improve physical and mental health and explore connections across different areas of health. Speaking of AI, Apple's in-house voice assistant Siri, which is due for a major AI overhaul, is expected to get upgraded with iOS 26.4.
However, it's not clear at the moment whether the teaser is directly related to Apple's unreleased AI agent. The company usually unveils major updates for its products and services at the WWDC developer event in June, when it announces new versions of its operating systems. Let's wait and see what's store for Apple Fitness+.
