Watch Out: Windows 10 November Update Also Removing Some Antivirus Apps

Incompatible apps removed during the install

In order to make sure that no issues are experienced during the install, Windows 10 November Update automatically scans the apps running on your computers and removes those flagged as incompatible.

This is how many users ended up with some of their essential apps uninstalled, including legitimate software such as CCleaner, which is one of those deleted by the November Update.

But what’s worse is that the November Update also removes some security apps from Windows 10 computers, and a thread on reddit names a few programs that might be impacted by this, and among them are Bitdefender, Spybot Search & Destroy, NOD32 Antivirus 8, and others.

Before blaming Microsoft for leaving your computer unprotected, it’s worth mentioning that these apps are uninstalled because they could affect the performance and reliability of Windows 10 after the November Update, and a notification is displayed in the action center once you get back to the desktop.

App updates are mandatory

While the November Update indeed removes some apps running on Windows 10, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t continue using them.

The only thing you need is an update that makes them fully compatible with Windows 10 1511, and most of the applications mentioned above have already received the improvements to run correctly.

But the list of programs that require updates to support Windows 10 November Update is much longer, so make sure you have a look in the action center after you complete the update to see all the apps that have been removed during the install.

The bright side is that even if you lose your third-party security app, Windows Defender is still there to make sure that no malware reaches your PC, but obviously, the protection it offers is rather limited. Some say Windows Defender is strong enough to block all malware if you stay away from malicious websites, while others cannot live without a third-party app that’s supposed to offer advanced protection.

fsecure /malwarebytes have never been removed yet.

It is odd that win 10 causes so many issues. No wonder i am experimenting with Linux.

Overall win 10 is ok...but thats it,just ok.
