Laryy
Review of Tresorit 1. This is the login window. I guess it is not necessary to make any other explications.2. 2 Step Verification window : If you already activated 2 Step Verification, you will get the authentication code via : email/sms/authenticator app or voice call. You will see later how to activate this feature.3. The client main window. Here you will see tresors ( folders ). Don't forget : You can have only 5 tresors and only 3 devices. When you click on tresor you have options like these : Sync, share, activity and more i.e rename, delete or open that tresor in windows explorer.3.1 Sync : You should activate this when you want to sync files/subfolders.3.2 Share windows : You can invite other friends to see and explore the tresor.3.3 Activity window : It shows last user's activity.3.4 Rename, delete and open in explorer :I think these options are very clear.4. With double click on tresor you will see its content : other subfolders or files. When you will make right click on a file you will see options like these : Create Encrypted link / See versions / Open / DeleteThe most important option here is : Create Encrypted link - The link will be copied straight away in clipboard. Don't gorget : In free plan, the link is valid only 30 days and only for 20 downloads.5. Contacts window : Here is very clear, I think.6. Settings windows : You have the options that you can see them in the screenshot.7. The web interface : When you clicked Visit my account from the client window, the browser will open and you will see these windows :7.1 Account window : Here it can see it : plan / storage /linked devices and Encrypted links created.7.2 Security window : You can activate / deactivate 2 Step Verification option. I think all options are very clear apart from Mobile app :This is a mobile app which can generate a code that it will be used at the step 2. I know 2 these apps. : Google Authenticator and Authenticator Plus. I use the last on my android phone. So this is all. I hope it will be helpfull for you! :showoff:
AlexCross
Why did you waste your time with the review? The service is useless. It's limited to 3 folders. We both have the same plan 50+GB, with the limit set to 5 folders (tresors), but still, it gets confused and still request to delete folders until you reach 3 to be able to create a new one. It's a no no.Box seems good enough, I have 100GB there and frankly I didn't notice any limitation. Dropbox is good but it offers a small amount of GBs for free.Onedrive isn't bad either, I have unlimited plan from my University, but is not too generous in options. I can create how many subfolders I wanted and anyway 5 tresors are enough for me.The dropbox/onedrive/box/copy etc. servers are located in the USA, and NSA monitors them. AlexCross
NSA monitors anything, everywhere, it doesn't matter the location, it's not just NSA, there are more services from different countries that work just like NSA, but they're not that stupid to be every day in the newspaper. mona
Thank you Laryy for your review. I've installed Tresorit in my VM to try it.It turned out TRESORIT has a lot of limitations : not only amount of storage space, but also : amount of folders you can create and even location of the first tresorit folder !!! (obligatory on C: drive), then : amount of links you can share, how long they are valid and how many times a linked file can be downloaded. You can't even decide by yourself what kind of rights you want to pass to the person sharing your own folder. All this makes this - I hope - SECURE cloud storage very inconvenient and of limited use only.In usability it can't be compared to to Dropbox at all.So if privacy is not a point of concern I still recommend using Dropbox instead. :PPSMe - personally - gonna use Tresorit but only for application data backup, that I stopped using Dropbox for long time ago. That's why I'm interested to get additional 2GB of cloud storage space. I'm about to get it, but don't know what need I do to fulfill that last condition (just downloading app. for Windows Phone seems not be enough, and I don't want to install Tresorit on mobiles). mona
Just to stay on the safe side it is maybe worth to quote also one opinion I've found on CNET :"Beware of Use!"December 16, 2013 | By auctionhouse34 | Version: Tresorit 0.5.1.76ProsQuick and easy cloud storage from your computer. Supposedly encrypted.ConsFlaws in syncing and no back up methodSummaryThey claim you can store valuable data in their cloud but my data went missing one day when I logged in. There was no one but me who had access and I did not delete or move them. Their support does not reply to you and basically leaves you hanging wondering if it's possible to get your files back, where or who they went to, or if you should just cut your losses. I will never use this product again and I consider it untrustworthy.
steven36
Dropbox may OK to share legal only stuff but I remember once someone got there account banned for just simply hosting a notepad with links to files to other filehost . He was not even hosting the real files just the links to the file . :P

When you need your data from the cloud, just hit the sync button. It's just a walkaround that I used to use.If not, if you delete the files from your drive, they will be deleted from the cloud aswell.
