Making Win7 Logon/Lock screen more secure. I've been playing with the Win7 Logon/lock screen and stumbled on these things. Probably old news to some and Im sure new to others so here goes. Hate the idea that someone could muck around with ur PC even tho its locked? No problem! Its easy to make the Logon/Lock screen more secure. The 2 problems are the Ease of Access Button and the Switch User Option that appear on the screen. This: http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-easily-disable-ease-of-access-button-in-windows-7-logon-screen/ will show "Ease of Access has been disabled by your Administrator" message whenever you click the Ease of Access button in the logon/lock screen. This: http://www.mediafire.com/?8qs7rv7dq9bxybd will remove the Switch User Option that appears on the screen. Have fun g/l

You shouldnt have to download or run any 3rd party program to do either of (and more) of these things. They can be done via Group Policy, which is something you should learn as it allows all kinds of security and functional changes. I'd suggest that learning to use GPO is better than always looking for a 3rd party program to resolve issues

Just my five cents worth.

no Group Policy Editor in win7 home prem..(unless I want to dnld and install Remote Server Admin Tools addon, which I have no desire to do) which is what I run.

BTW I know how to use the Group Policy Editor in win7 pro/ult but found it quite cumbersome. As far as 3rd party apps go, well IMHO they usually outshine anything MS can come up with. There are also other ways of doing these 2 things that havent been discussed here. But technically you are right when you say "You shouldnt have to download or run any 3rd party program to do either of (and more) of these things." BTW the second thing (disabling the Switch User Option) I posted is a .reg file (actually 2 reg files, one for disabling and one for re-enabling) Thanx for ur 5cents worth. :D
