7-Zip is an open-source file archiver, that offers the highest compression ratio, using the new 7z format, which delivers compression results that are usually 30-50% better than standard ZIP. We tested it with a server log file, which compressed with ZIP had a file size of 18 mb and using 7-Zip was reduced to 8 Mb (results may vary, depending on file type). 7Zip supports 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB formats, so it can be used with all popular archive files. The program offers a basic file explorer interface and also integrates into the Windows right-click menu. It can be associated with any of the supported formats and also offers command/line support.

Advanced Renamer is a free batch rename utility with multiple methods for renaming multiple files and folders at once. By configuring renaming methods the names can be manipulated in various ways. The 14 different methods enable you to change the names, attributes, and timestamps of files in one go. The files can also be copied or moved to new locations based on information in the files. With Advanced Renamer you can construct new file names by adding, removing, replacing, changing case, or giving the file a brand-new name based on known information about the file. Advanced Renamer allows the use of regular expressions and wildcards. Before performing the operations on the files, you can verify that the output will be correct and if you perform the rename and regret it, you can undo the complete batch. With Advanced Renamer you can change the names of your favourite music files to more suitable names using the built-in ID3 tags. Universal Extractor is a program do to exactly what it says: extract files from any type of archive, whether it's a simple zip file, an installation program (like Wise or NSIS), or even a Windows Installer (.msi) package. This application is not intended to be a general purpose archiving program. It will never replace WinRAR, 7-Zip, etc. What it will do is allow you to extract files from virtually any type of archive, regardless of source, compression method, etc. The original motivation behind this project was to create an easy, convenient way to extract files from installation packages, such as Inno Setup or Windows Installer packages, without pulling up a command line every time.

Its RAR format may only take second place for its level of compression, but it is consistently the fastest when it comes to both packing and unpacking files.
